I
was unemployed, with very little savings, depressed and yet, one day I had an
unexplained urge to buy a computer and connect myself to the Internet.
This was during the early days of the net, in 1997. Not even close to what the
web looks like today.
I was constantly reading newspaper and magazine articles about the net and how
it would change the world in every possible aspect.
These predictions turned out to be true, eventually, but back then, I didn‘t
have even the slightest idea, how this monster was about to turn my own
personal miserable life upside down.
I bought a brand new PC and signed up with an ISP to get myself connected to
the net.
It was like love at first sight!
I got hooked the minute I started to surf.
A totally new world opened up for me. I got sucked into it and was overwhelmed
by what it had to offer.
I became addicted and spent hours upon hours each day, including whole nights
on the Internet.
Back then, it seemed like my life’s motto was ‘too much to do, too little
time.’
I was like a little kid in a huge toy store who wanted to explore and
experiment with every single toy on the shelf.
At first, I was attracted to the ‘fun’ things you could do on the net: chats,
forums, games, etc.
But after a while, I began to become more and more focused in the business
related aspects of the online world.
I felt like a pioneer in the ‘gold rush’ days, where every gold digger with
enough motivation and a shovel could strike gold.
I found it to be an ideal business environment, because anybody, regardless of
his race, religion, social background, where he lived, his education level or
his previous experience – had a shot to prove himself, succeed and achieve his
dreams. And this arena was open for everybody.
I was determined to learn the secrets of Internet business and day after day I
dedicated all my time to this mission that I had taken upon myself.
A new unfamiliar fire was burning inside me and I didn't waste a second.
I joined forums, read articles, bought ebooks and learned through any possible
mean, how online business works, how people earn money online and how I could
do the very same.
I spent months at home, day in and day out, researching and learning more and
more. But when my bank account started to scream (since it was almost empty),
I understood that if I didn’t get a job ASAP, I would be in deep trouble.
I hated the idea of being a sales person once again, selling meaningless
things that I couldn't care less about; but this time, I was in for a sweet
surprise.
